The UCD Sustainable Community is a group of professionals, students and staff members at the University College Dublin.
Our goal is to engage and educate the UCD community on sustainable energy practices and research, with a view to reducing carbon emissions in our local area.
We aim to promote a culture of communication and knowledge transfer amongst students and staff through social media avenues, technology applications across campus and networking events.
Through promotion and discussion of these issues we expect to positively impact the UCD community and encourage more sustainable practices across campus.
The UCD-SEC is divided in four main strands:
Some of the activities of the community include the application for community energy efficiency grants, promoting the campus as living lab for energy and emission savings cutting edge technologies, community equipment purchasing and promotion.
